Originally a hydrographic survey vessel belonging to a fleet of ocean bird named vessels. Owl was purchased at a government auction and was converted to the boat she is today. She not only had a major transformation but she also underwent a major hull reconstruction. 75% of the framing was replaced. Many planks were replaced as well. The engine is in the very far forward section of the boat, making the interior design difficult. The top speed is 10 knots with her 80hp Perkins Diesel. She comfortably cruises at 6.5 knots. There is accommodation for 4 with an enclosed head and a full galley.
