At 15’ 6” Piper is a flat bottom fishing skiff. Originally built in the 1950 by The Newman Brothers of Samson Narrow. The story told top me was that one of the Newman Brother built it for himself as a fishing skiff to catch salmon in the channel. Originally powered by a Briggs and Stratton inboard and an inboard rudder. Built entirely in fir.
When I found her she was upside-down in a driveway with no planks on the bottom. The decks and engine box were added. She is now powered with a 4-cylinder gas engine. She is a good weather boat and is capable of 10.5 knots
